During my pre/postnatal care experience, I noticed many gaps in our healthcare system & government. There is an overall lack of support for mothers in the United States.
These gaps & suffering from postpartum mental health issues, I grew a passion for women experiencing similar issues. As an attachment based therapist I noticed other mental health professionals do not know how to support new mothers without suggesting strategies that can damage secure attachments in the parent/child relationship.
I have been in counseling for over 19 years. I love working with teens through adulthood clients.
Hi, I’m Denae! As a therapist who lives in the neurodivergent world myself, I believe therapy should be both real and lighthearted. With over a decade in behavioral health and dual licenses in counseling and addictions, I bring both clinical training and personal experience. I hold a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University. My goal is to create a safe space where you can show up authentically, free from judgment, with a touch of humor along the way.
Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, especially if you’ve tried therapy before and felt like it didn’t quite click. My approach is active, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that healing happens when we learn new ways of thinking, behaving, and relating to our emotions—not just talking about them.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a trauma-informed lens, specializing in addiction, women’s issues, adolescents, anxiety, and depression. I also have experience supporting parents and individuals impacted by a loved one’s substance use, including navigating boundaries, codependency, burnout, and complicated emotions such as guilt, fear, and grief.
I strive to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel accepted, understood, and gently challenged to grow. Many clients tell me they appreciate that our work goes beyond listening alone—we focus on learning practical skills and applying them to real-life situations.
I also have a background in Christianity and am comfortable integrating faith and spirituality into therapy when desired by the client. I respect each person’s beliefs and values and approach spiritual topics with openness, curiosity, and sensitivity.
My therapy style is centered on warmth, empathy, and inclusivity. Drawing from my extensive experience working with diverse populations, I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where everyone feels heard, valued, and understood. Everyone brings unique experiences, and my goal is to ensure that our work together honors your cultural, spiritual, and personal life story.

With the proper support and guidance, counseling can help you cultivate your strengths, regain control, learn ways to overcome difficulties, enrich your life, and take positive steps toward a more fulfilling future. I work collaboratively with adults and couples utilizing a variety of pragmatic, therapeutic approaches tailored to your unique needs and personality. We will start out by defining your therapeutic goals for improvement as well as developing the roadmap to get you there. Whether you want to work on communication skills, getting unstuck, reducing stress/anxiety/anger, developing a more positive outlook or improved coping mechanisms, I use a strengths-based approach to empower you to move into a new chapter in your life.
We will work together via a HIPAA compliant video platform (Zoom), meeting from the comfort of YOUR own couch, so there is no need to stress about travel, traffic, or being recognized in a therapist's waiting room. For your convenience, I offer morning, afternoon, and evening appointments.
