I have worked with a wide variety of populations and settings from non-profit agencies like group homes in foster care and Women's Advocacy shelters to outpatient settings, within a hospital. I have worked over the years with clients who are or who have experienced trauma, abuse, domestic violence, family violence, Many of my clients are successful working through the stress of new life adjustments to graduation, college, post partum and relationships.
Feeling stuck? Wanting more connections? It's hard to build and maintain relationships. I work with clients to analyze themselves and how they interact with others. You'll build confidence and communication skills that you can apply to all relationships, while lowering anxiety and managing depression.
I graduated from Texas A&M -Commerce in December of 2014 with a master is counseling. I am trained in family counseling, and untraditional families(LGBTQ and poly) counseling.
One's mental health is equally as important as physical health. With this belief, I decided to devote my time in building my practice, Open Horizons. I'm a psychologist trained in clinical/forensic psychology. My training and experience have allowed me to develop clinical expertise in treatment modalities that are evidence based, such as CBT and ACT. I have extensive training in the assessment of psychological concerns including diagnostic clarification/personality functioning.
I consider the power of connection to ourselves and others a key component to fulfillment and stability in life. As humans, we just aren’t designed to go through challenges alone.
So whether you want to overcome anxiety or depression, are struggling with trauma from the past, or dealing with relationship issues, seeking therapy is a courageous decision to create a secure and supportive space to explore what’s going on in your heart and head and begin healing.
Maybe you are struggling in a relationship that seems exhausting. You can never seem to get anything right or make anything work. Maybe you are experiencing feelings of powerlessness and anxiety, where everyone wants something from you, but you don't seem to be getting what you want or need from them. Maybe you are having trouble connecting and feeling a sense of emptiness or loneliness. I can help you make sense of what's going on and how to find your way to the other side of this.
I’m a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in treating narcissistic abuse, postpartum challenges, and relationship issues. I’ve spent years helping clients rebuild their sense of self, strengthen boundaries, and recover from painful relational patterns. My style is direct, compassionate, and deeply trauma-informed. I believe in creating a safe, steady space where you can heal, grow, and feel truly supported.
