

Having been a student of the human brain for the past two decades, my degrees and training bridge cognitive neuroscience, clinical psychology, neuropsychology, psychodynamic therapy, and most recently, psychedelic therapy, to assist my clients in building a map of their nervous system in order to facilitate emotional healing and overall wellness.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas, I draw from extensive experience in the health professional field working in hospitals, private clinics, and residential facilities with various populations.

I have 16 years experience as a clinical psychologist, with 8 years experience providing tele-mental health services. I earned my PhD in 2010 from the University of Wyoming. I completed pre-doctoral internship in 2010 and post-doctoral residency in 2011 within the Department of Veterans Affairs, with a Trauma/PTSD specialty. I have been fully and independently licensed since 2012, with expertise providing evidence based care for a variety of mental health conditions.

I spent 30 years in the public school setting, 18 as a certified school counselor at ALL levels (but mostly JHS and HS), where I served diverse populations and needs. Gerald (Rob) Carter is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Registered Play Therapist who has worked with children and families since 2012. Rob earned his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor and Bachelor of Arts from Thomas Edison State University in Trenton, NJ. Rob is a member of the Association for Play Therapy.
