I want you to feel safe, supported, and genuinely understood when you walk into therapy with me. My background blends creative arts, special education, and clinical mental health training, which allows me to see each client as a whole person—not just through a diagnostic lens. I’ve spent years supporting children, adolescents, and families through school counseling, crisis intervention, autism-related needs, maternal mental health concerns, and major life transitions.
Clients often tell me I’m warm, down-to-earth, and easy to talk to. I aim to make therapy feel both comforting and productive, giving you practical tools you can use right away. No matter what you’re facing, you won’t be navigating it alone—we’ll work through it together at a pace that feels right for you.
Nice to meet you!
I have been counseling full-time since 1996. I have extensive experience counseling families, couples, marriges, and individuals on a wide range of issues. As a Christian and ordained minister, I bring a caring non-judgmental approach rooted in spiritual truth to the therapeutic experience. A Native of St. Louis, MO, I am also a US Navy Veteran and lived in Hawaii for 7 years before relocating to Texas in 1995. I have been married to Stephanie since 1991 and we have one adult daughter who is a graduate of Texas Christian University. We have 3 dogs and are avid pet lovers.
As a working mom, doctoral candidate, and someone who wears many hats, I deeply understand how overwhelming life can feel at times. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, coping with grief and loss, & motivation, self esteem, and confidence. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion.
I have worked with clients from ages 3 through 80 and with individuals, couples, and families. With that breadth of experience, very little shocks or surprises me, and I am able to develop an individualized approach for each client, combining therapy modalities that play to my strengths as a counselor and that are helpful for the people I’m working with.
Three principles shape all the counseling I do:

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
