My name is Alyssa. I am a therapist, but before that I am an imperfect person that has been on a continual healing journey herself. This therapist sees a therapist. My personal and professional experiences leave me with the knowledge that people have layers. I will sit with you in your emotions and peel back these layers with you. Feeling heard and seen in itself is healing.
My work has taken place in schools, communities, homes, and hospitals. I have worked with people requiring intensive outpatient services as well as those needing crisis services and inpatient psychiatric care. I have experience working with a diverse variety of children, adolescents, and adults. I am especially passionate about working with those struggling with self-worth, depression, anxiety, trauma, attachment, and parenting.
Maybe you are facing a transition in your life, struggling with your sense of self or personal relationships, or you’ve faced difficult situations that have lingered with you. Sometimes when we are experiencing these we can feel on edge, easily frustrated, confused, unmotivated, or inadequate. You’re ready for a change and want to be met with a balance that leads you to growth and compassion for yourself.
I am here to support you during your journey.
My work as a therapist centers on supporting individuals who are navigating disordered eating, low self-esteem, perfectionism, anxiety, and the often complex transitions of adulthood. I’m deeply committed to meeting people where they are, helping them find the delicate balance between acceptance and meaningful change.
About Me
I'm not your typical psychotherapist, and everyone I've had the honor to work with on their life's journey can attest to this. Born, raised and forged in the "Steel City" and sharpened in the "City of Brotherly Love", the term "Alchemist" more accurately describes who I am. I specialize in alchemizing pain into purpose and trauma into triumph. If you're ready to transform your life, I'm your guy!
I am a licensed psychologist providing services across the lifespan, although my training has provided me with a strong understanding of child and adolescent development, school based difficulties, and learning differences. I completed my doctorate in School Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and my pre-doctoral clinical internship at the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities (CIDD). My master’s degree was completed in Counseling & Guidance at New York University. I specialize in treating children and teens with neurodevelopmental disabilities, including ADHD and autism.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, flexible, and informed by evidence-based practices. I provide individual psychotherapy for children and adolescents to address a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress-related difficulties, academic challenges, emotional difficulties, behavioral challenges, and relationship challenges.
Together, we'll consider what isn’t working and develop insights for how to change. I combine multiple treatment techniques, including CBT, DBT, and other behavioral/solution-focused approaches. I would be happy to speak with you about ways we may be able to work together to meet your needs. You are welcome to call or email to set up an initial consultation.
Hi! My name is Ashlee Lewis. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor located in North Carolina, providing virtual and in-person counseling services to individuals 18 and older. Although my practice is headquartered in Charlotte, NC, I serve a diverse clientele from across the Carolinas. I have received training in Perinatal Mental Health through Postpartum Support International, and I'm committed to assisting individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community, as a queer-identifying person myself.
I have a MA in Marriage and Family Therapy and have been practicing since 2015. I worked in the behavioral health field with children and families for 15 years prior to becoming a marriage and family therapist. I love working with individuals, couples and families.
