"To be more fully connected is to be more fully oneself" Hi, I am a bilingual (Mandarin) therapist in NYC and surrounding area with over 13 years of clinical experience supporting children, couples, and families. My client-centered approach is warm, compassionate, and tailored to each individual’s needs. I have worked with diverse populations in child welfare, psychiatric centers, and the education system, helping clients navigate challenges such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, Selective Mutism and relationship issues. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their experiences, gain clarity, and find greater meaning and fulfillment in life
As a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, I work collaboratively with clients to identify thoughts, behaviors, and relationship patterns that impact emotional health. Sessions are conducted in a relaxed, conversational style, and together we develop concrete action steps that facilitate significant change and growth.
I have additional training in the Flash Technique for Rapid Trauma Processing and Prolonged Exposure Therapy, an evidence-based trauma treatment that has been shown to help clients recover from post-traumatic stress.
My clients see me as warm, relatable, and easygoing. I completed my Master's in Mental Health Counseling at SUNY New Paltz in 2016 and have been working directly with clients of all backgrounds ever since.
I’m Lauren, an LCSW with experience supporting clients through anxiety, ADHD, trauma, and major life changes. I’m friendly, down-to-earth, and work in a way that helps you feel comfortable and heard. Together, we’ll focus on learning new skills, understanding patterns, and creating space for growth at your own pace.
Therapy is about accepting who you are, while also exploring the ways you can grow. I am a Licensed & Board-Certified Creative Arts Therapist with related training in DBT and stress reduction. I’m particularly passionate about helping people dealing with complicated, unhealthy, or violent relationships. I also enjoy working with adolescent and young adult clients, particularly those healing from trauma or navigating life transitions.
Ever since I was a teenager I knew that one of my purpose in life was to help others. Also, I knew that one of my strengths is the capacity to connect with others.
Understanding the nature of our behaviors and the way we interpret life became a great challenge. I enrolled in Psychology School with a clear understanding of what I wanted professionally, but never imagined the profound and deep journey that I was about to begin.
