Hello, and thank you for considering therapy with me! I understand that seeking therapy can feel like a big step, and I want to assure you that this is a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your feelings, experiences, and challenges.
I studied Forensic Psychology and completed my Bachelor’s degree at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. I went on to complete my Master’s degree at St. Johns University where I studied Mental Heath Counseling.
I believe that people are shaped by their relationships and life experiences. I work to create a trusting relationship where we can explore your difficulties and improve your life. Many of the people I work with are quite thoughtful and accomplished but they are not happy. They feel that they could benefit from personal inquiry into the problems of living that they are experiencing. Having complex emotions and struggles is normal. It is an aspect of life. But it’s best not to live with it all alone. We need to express our grief, confusion and fear, and we need someone to listen, to respond and to empathize.
I am an engaging, down to earth therapist with over 35 years experience. I work within several psychotherapeutic modalities that I adapt depending on my client’s needs and character, including psychoanalytic therapy, interpersonal and relational psychotherapy and cognitive/behavioral therapy.
Psychotherapy is a place where it is ok to have your feelings- whatever, as confused, painful or overwhelming as they are. But it’s best not to live with it all alone- it’s best to talk about it, to share it with an ally who can help you to figure it out, move on, and build a happy, productive and enjoyable life. That’s what psychotherapy is all about.
I have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and 22 years experience treating a range of difficulties with clients from all walks of life. I've narrowed my practice over the years to working strictly with adults and couples. While my postdoctoral work was focused on mood and anxiety issues, I have both training and experience with relationship issues, binge eating conditions, work/school stress, grief, and Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAT).
I work with adults and seniors, individuals, couples, families and groups struggling with anxiety, depression, and identity issues. I help by allowing you to tell your story, tap into your individual strengths to facilitate healing, achieve greater emotional intelligence, develop healthier communication styles and overcome your life challenges. Within a Strength-based, Client-centered environment, I utilize an eclectic approach using elements of Solution Focused Brief Therapy, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Positive Psychology

I work with a variety of individuals from adolescence through adults. We may be a good fit if you; have experienced trauma, are a young adult struggling with the quarter life crisis, are experiencing an unhealthy relationship(s) or struggling to set boundaries, are a parent seeking support and education, are an adult with ADHD, are an over thinker/perfectionist, have anxiety, are going through a divorce/separation or break up, or just want to learn to manage emotional discomfort with more ease.
Are you a woman or part of a couple struggling with the deep impact of trauma, anxiety, or relationship stress? Do you hear that voice saying, "I'm not good enough; I don’t deserve happiness"? I want you to know those ingrained beliefs aren't facts! They are coping mechanisms that are now keeping you stuck. They're often just patterns learned in old relationships. I help women and couples move past old habits towards safe attachment and acceptance within. You have untapped inner strengths, and you absolutely can go from just coping to thriving and living a full-hearted life.
