Hello! I am CJ Munro. I’m a therapist at CJ Munro Counseling, but you can also call me a trauma translator, queer navigator & coping creative. I help anxious and depressed individuals have the tools to thrive, not just survive in their lives. My ideal clients are ready to start their healing journey, and open to learn. I primarily work with the queer population, children, couples, victims of sexual assault, people with trauma, anxiety, depression, and Sex therapy.
"What matters more than what you know is how much you care" is a phrase I took with me from one of my professors in Grad School. I believe that statement embodies who I am and what I bring to the practice - lots of care! With that said, I have been in practice either working in both alternative and traditional high schools, as a school-based therapist in a facility school for students with special needs, and/or in the private setting since 2016. I have worked with a wide range of ages and populations, not just kids/teens but adults too! My experience includes helping those struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, divorce/parenting/blended families, grief/loss, sexual abuse and other traumas, autism, intellectual disabilities with co-occurring mental health diagnoses, immigration issues, and even college/career counseling. I really enjoy working with all ages! I was a double major at University of Northern Colorado, studying both School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health. I completed all of the coursework for both tracks and the School Counseling internship, graduating in May 2017.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Colorado with a lifelong passion for teaching and healing. My own journey through trauma and growth deepened my calling to support others. By blending professional expertise with personal insight, I offer a grounded, compassionate space where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered in their healing.
I work with individuals and couples from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences. Alongside my professional growth, I’ve continued my own journey of authenticity and self-love — deepening my understanding of what true healing requires. This led me to create Heartfelt Holistic Healing, a practice that looks beyond symptoms to the root of what’s really going on. Together, we move toward lasting, meaningful healing from the inside out.
Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Colorado. I obtained my Masters in Social Work degree from the University of Denver in 2014 and have over 10 years of experience. I work primarily with adults and adolescents. Some things that I enjoy doing outside of work are traveling, reading, and being active outside. I am always looking for new travel recommendations if you have any!
I started out working in college sports as a trainer and eventually began consulting with athletes and coaches after graduate school. My career path later took me through 10 years with an ambulance service, 2 years as a community service officer and 4 years as a crisis counselor embedded with a police department. I've also spent a considerable amount of time teaching psychology as a college professor. Because of this rather unique skill set, I have a heart for athletes, rescue workers and students.
As a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, my unique background spans decades as a critical-care helicopter and fixed-wing flight nurse/paramedic, officer in the United States Air Force Reserves and entrepreneur. My career has been rooted in high-intensity environments where calm leadership, teamwork, and compassion are essential.
I specialize in working with adults, adolescents, first responders, veterans, entrepreneurs and individuals navigating complex or generational trauma. I am trained in EMDR and integrate trauma-informed care to help clients process painful experiences while rediscovering resilience and clarity. I am trained in psychedelic modalities of healing with a focused interest in ketamine assisted therapy and psilocybin-assisted therapies. I am a licensed facilitator-in-training in the State of Colorado.
I am a warm, empathetic therapist who values collaboration and authenticity. I take a practical, solution-oriented approach while honoring your unique experiences and perspective. I believe that meaningful change happens when you feel seen, understood, and supported, and I aim to provide tools and strategies that help you express yourself, communicate confidently, and engage fully in life. I meet clients where they are and work alongside them to build confidence, self-awareness, and balance.
