I’m glad you’re here.
On my path as a therapist and healer, one thing I’m always going to stand on is this: YOU are the expert of your life. I believe healing happens when we honor your lived experience and reconnect with your inner wisdom.
As a graduate of the University of Southern California and an active-duty Navy Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals and families around the world including children, teens, spouses, GS employees, retirees, and active-duty service members.
I have been in private practice as a therapist since 2016, I've also been a stay-at-home mom, and a Marine Officer. Each of these experiences has taught me valuable lessons that I continue to bring to the service of my clients.
My name is David Hoffmann. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, licensed since early 2015, and have been counseling for over a decade. I have been happily married for 34 years and have 5 adult children spread across the country. I have worked as a counselor for more than ten years. I work with couples and individuals and help with a wide variety of issues from Trauma to depression and anxiety.
As a therapist, I aim to create a non-judgemental and compassionate space where clients can feel seen, understood, and supported as they work through life’s challenges.
I have been working in private practice since 2021 with clients of all backgrounds.
I have my masters in Counseling Psychology and am a Licensed Professional Counselor with an eclectic therapeutic style that leaves us room to customize your experience in therapy to your needs. I'll be bringing with me my experience working with clients aged 5 to 75 on goals related to life changes, family dynamics, trauma, depression, anxiety, relationships, substance use, ADHD, and more. I lean on a humanistic and strengths-based style to bring warmth into our work. Open to working with individuals, families, siblings, or couples. Currently only offering virtual sessions.
I have a special passion for working with veterans and first responders. Since 2019, I have supported veterans from all service eras and have worked with individuals who are paramedics, in critical care, and law enforcement.
I'm also experienced with working with neurodivergent populations, including autism, ADHD, and OCD.
In my free time, I love reading, being outdoors with my family, fostering dogs, and traveling.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Grief Counselor. My practical experience spans roles as a community therapist and a hospice grief counselor, giving me comprehensive insight into the grief process. I also assist clients who are experiencing life changes and losses (e.g., loss of relationships, jobs, retirement, health challenges) and caregiver support.
